Creating a Spring Garden with Color, Texture and Balance
For a wedding at The Garrison in March 2018, we worked with the bride to bring a vision to life. Our idea was to look ahead, using colors and textures that created a warm, spring feeling (while the snows of a long winter still lingered on the ground).
When a venue offers such beautiful panoramic views, it’s also important to create a floral design that takes advantage of the space. For the ceremony, a light arbor of spring flowering branches, such as quince and camellia, framed the space and allowed guests to enjoy the magnificent mountain views. To bring the reception area to life with the feel of spring, we used greenery in tall centerpieces that foretold of the lush local landscape that was just around the corner. Meanwhile, the alternating low centerpieces, used florals with warm tones and flowering branches to create a seasonal garden effect. These centerpieces worked well with the blush color table cloth, transforming the space and bringing the vision to life. Congrats Katarina and Brendan!
